My name is Hasan Bozdogan. I am originally from Adıyaman. I came to Istanbul through my uncle. At that time, I learned the profession with Şemsi Şengör. He was very disciplined.
Thanks to him, I loved the profession and continued. I opened my first shop in 1983. The first thing that comes to mind when it comes to silk carpet,
I am the owner of SAF İPEK HEREKE CARPET.
Later we made contact with Arab countries, especially the United Arab Emirates. Then in 1986 through the Chamber of Commerce
We participated in the fair in the United Arab Emirates. We met with Arab customers and continued our relations.
We made them come to Turkey. We had carpets woven in Hereke. Hereke is the number one and best quality address of silk carpet.
We still buy our silks from Hereke. Silk HEREKE Carpets are the specialty of our company.
but we also produce wool and cotton carpets.
This profession is like an addiction for us, if we like a carpet, we have to buy it. If we can’t afford it, find a loan
We should still buy that rug. We love our job, maybe that’s why we’ve been a successful company for so many years. Customer satisfaction is our first rule and we do everything for you to be happy.

İsmim Hasan Bozdoğan. İstanbul Kapalıçarşı’da, ipek halı denince ilk akla gelen SAF İPEK HEREKE HALICILIK firmasının sahibiyim. Aslen Adıyamanlıyım. İstanbul’a gelişim dayım vasıtasıyla oldu. O zaman Şemsi Şengör’ün yanında mesleği öğrendim. Çok disiplinliydi.
Onun sayesinde mesleği sevdim ve devam ettim. 1983 yılında ilk dükkanımı açtım.
Daha sonra Arap ülkeleriyle bağlantı kurduk, özellikle Birleşik Arap Emirlikleri ile. Sonra 1986 yılında Ticaet Odası vasıtasıyla Birleşik Arap Emirlikleri’nde fuara katıldık. Arap müşteriler ile tanışp, ilişkilerimizi devam ettirdik. Onların Türrkiye’ye gelmelerini sağladık. Hereke’de halı dokuttuk. Hereke ipek halının bir numaralı ve en kaliteli adresidir. ama aynı zamanda yün ve pamuk halılarda üretiyoruz.
Bu meslek bizim için bir bağımlılık gibi, eğer bir halıyı beğenirsek onu muhakkak almak zorundayız. Eğer paramız yetmez ise, borç bulup
o halıyı yinede almalıyız. Biz işimizi severek yapıyoruz, yapmaya da elimizden geldiğince devam etmek istiyoruz.

Women produce silk hand-woven carpets in “HEREKE”.
Hereke carpets are Turkish handmade carpets produced and sold in Hereke, a coastal town in Turkey. For a long time, they used to be produced only in Hereke, 60 km from Istanbul.
The Ottoman sultan Abdülmecid I founded the Hereke Imperial Manufacture in 1841 to produce all the textiles for his Dolmabahçe Palace on the Bosphorus. He gathered the best artists and carpet weavers of the Ottoman Empire in Hereke, where they began producing high-quality rugs and large carpets with unique patterns.
